The film idol with the chiselled profile makes today's leading men look effetes and insubstantial. Lancaster's greatest talent in films such as From Here To Eternity, whose erotic love scenes in surfing with Deborah Kerr scandalized the Hollywood censors in 1953, was to capture the essence of male heterosexuality. However, even in the 1950s, when his career was at its peak, Lancaster Norma's second wife and many lovers spoke obscurely of his passion for all kinds of sexual activity and couples, men or women. Now, documents published by the FBI and his family this week reveal that Lancaster, with problems of insecurity and depression, had an intense predatory sex life that included many issues with men. Lancaster, who won an Oscar in 1961 for his portrait of an evangelist wanderer in Elmer Gantry, was watched by the FBI after director J Edgar Hoover considered the actor as a threat to U.S. security because of his sexual inclinations. In a lot of the newly published documents, dating back to the 1950s, FBI agents placed Lancaster in a lot of gay parties that became more and more debated and extravagant. According to these reports, Lancaster, along with his friend Rock Hudson, laid the basis for the open lifestyle and promising that many gays in Hollywood live today. What FBI documents reveal is a star with overwhelming appetite to consume those around it through physical conquest. It was, in short, a sex addict who, like all addicts, found in his addiction a release for his insecurities. It was Lancaster's first life in the slums of New York City in 1920 that undoubtedly helped to shape its intense appetites. His mother, Lizzie, was a dominant bully who destroyed her children in form. So Lizzie Lancaster insisted that her children rise above the poverty and crime that Lancaster was once beaten by her mother for not returning five cents of incorrect change to a grocery store. Certainly, his mother's ambition for his son combined with a physicist who was already spinning his head, had already pushed Lancaster to the edge of an acting career. For years, until he entered World War II as a U.S. Marine, Lancaster fought to become a circus star. Eventually, he was reduced to taking his act of circus more and more streaked to burlesque, acting between striptease acts and posing naked for male meat magazines. The war saved Lancaster from new professional indignities. He swore, once the war ended, never be humiliated again and swore to turn Hollywood into his personal playground. Lancaster soon entered the movies and soon became one of the most recognizable stars in the world. But those who worked with Lancaster noticed the new power and wealth were accompanied by intense anger and an overwhelming need to control those around him. He was depressed or elected for no particular reason. This mercurial tendency could have been the legacy of his dominant mother, her escape from poverty and the years of humiliation in the circus. Whatever the real cause, Burt Lancaster's demons found their truest expression in sex. Lancaster had married Norma Anderson in 1946 but it was soon rumored that he had relations with a platoon of makeup girls, production assistants and actresses, including Marlene Dietrich. Enter the email address This field is necessary Because it was the biggest star in Hollywood and seen as an all-American man, Lancaster came under the scrutiny of the paranoid, Cold-War obsessed, FBI. What they discovered, and documented, was a sexuality out of control. In January 1960 there was a report of a joint police and military raid at the house of a millionaire who frequented Hollywood nights and was a notorious homosexual. The millionaire's mansion, surrounded by a high-wire fence guarded with an electric alarm and a shock system had been organizing large-scale homosexual orgies in which guests were photographed by surprise. The raid was organized by the U.S. Army because the orgy was allegedly taken care of by an admiral and 250 marines. The FBI report on the raid of names that many prominent individuals revealed as participants, including Lancaster and Rock Hudson. Lancaster never stopped looking for love on both sides of the gender fence. The cause was probably narcissism. Lancaster's body was something he learned and protected his entire life. According to Norma Anderson, he needed the intimacy of constant sex to force others to know that they had been touched by a god. Tragically for Lancaster, his last years gave him a lot of time to reflect on the fragility of his pious flesh. Right after her 1989 marriage to her third wife, Susan Martin, she suffered a stroke and spent her last four years confined to a wheelchair, fighting to communicate. His life seemed to have been a search for something he could never find in places he had never been. Burt LancasterBiographyBurt Lancaster would have been better known as an actor and film producer. He acted and produced in many action movies, thriller, horror, historical, military and adventure. Burt loved to act and was forced to become famous for it because of his theatrical muses he would prepare and present in the circus. He even served in the U.S. Army during World War II, in a Special Services Division. AboutOn November 2, 1913, Burton Stephen Lancaster was born in his parents' house in New York. His mother was known to Elizabeth, and his father was a mailman named James. Both sides of their grandparents were known as British immigrants and arrived in America across Ellis Island. Burt grew up in the streets of East Harlem on Manhattan Island. He began to do gymnastics and became a basketball player in his high school, DeWitt Clinton High. His mother had passed away before graduating in high school because he had broken blood vessels in the brain causing a brain hemorrhage. That didn't stop Burt from accepting a basketball scholarship at New York University. However, he retired before completing his degree. Burt joined the circus with his lifelong friend, Nick Cravat, at the age of nineteen, and were men of theatrical circus until Burt went to the United States Army and was placed in the Special Services Division. Serving with Mark Clark's fifth army, he was close to his ancestors in Britain, but served in Italy for three years until the war ended and the treaties were made. Movie CareerBurton Lancaster returned home to New York after the war, and told him to be auditioned for Broadway. I wasn't excited to act, but he looked at a hunting sound for three weeks. Harold Hecht was Lancaster's first agent, who brought Burt the opportunity to film with Hal Wallis in some fantastic films. Hecht made Lancaster a deal of production and duo action after working in Hollywood for five years, and Lancaster was signed into an eight-scene contract. With Hal Wallis, in Hollywood, Lancaster appeared in Desert Fury, which led him to his role as "Swede" Anderson in The Killers. Lancaster filmed several large with Hal Wallis and the producer of The Killers, Mark Hellinger. Lancaster had finished his five-year Hollywood movie, and Hecht had kept his promise to start his own big movie company. The first company was called Norma Productions, after the name of his second wife, and together, Lancaster and Hecht, they filmed Kiss the Blood Off my Hands, Criss Cross, Rope of Sand, The Flame and the Arrow, Mister 880, and Vengeance Valley. All these films were great successes in the film industry. Norma Productions filmed two Colombian films with Halburt, a subsidiary of Norma. Ten Tall Men and the first time were released in 1951 and 1952. In 1951 the duo changed the name of his company from Norma Productions to Hecht-Lancaster Productions. Then they filmed dramatic and adventure films after filming The Crimson Pirate in 1952. Lancaster also produced and has been the actor in His Majesty O'Keefe, written by James Hill, the man who would soon work with Hecht and Lancaster. Hecht and Lancaster worked for United Artists for their upcoming productions, after leaving Warners Studios. There they won an Academy Award for the Best Picture for Marty in 1955. In 1954 and 1955, Lancaster, Hecht and Hill produced a total of five great films. In 1955, James Hill proved to be worthy to do a duo in a threesome. As the years followed, they were nominated for several awards. In 1956, Lancaster won the Silver Bear for Best Actor Award for Trapeze and was nominated to win the best actor of the Golden Globes for the Rainmaker. In 1960, Burt won the best actor of The Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Laurel Awards and New York Film Critic Circle, all for his performance of Elmer Gantry in Elmer Gantry. In the mid-1960s, Lancaster and Hecht worked with the younger generation and collaborated in great films like The Professionals, where they co-started with Lee Marvin. The 1960s were known for Lancaster's lower films. In the 1970s, Lancaster worked on projects, mainly consisting of popular thrillers, horrors and historical films. In 1978, Go Tell The Spartans was almost unreleased, but Lancaster donated money to help finish it because he loved history so much. His later years, he stared at Moonlight Graham in the field of dreams, John W. Davis in Separate but Igual, and Gerard Carriere in Phantom de la Opera. He's on Hollywood Walk of Fame now and forever. Married LifeLancaster married three times. His first marriage was to June of Ernst from 1935 to 1946. In 1946 he married Norma Anderson, who was his reason for the name of Norma Productions. Norma and Burt had five children, but they divorced in 1969. Burt married a third time with Susan Martin in 1990, and married until his death in 1994. What was the net value of Burt Lancaster? While he was alive, Burt had a net value of $40 million. DeathBurt had already had two heart attacks, and the third was not "third time the charm". When the one who took his life took root on him, he was at home and was eighty years old. He lived in an apartment in Century Park, and after being cremated, and his ashes spread on the lawn under a large oak in Westwood Memorial Park. Although no funeral or memorial was held for him, he got a single plate that says his name in the same park. Acts Categories
